Prof. Helen Afang Andow, Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Strategy, Innovation, and Service Delivery, opened the conference with remarks highlighting the critical role of research in societal development. The keynote address, delivered by Prof. Okpe Ochai Okpe from Federal University Lafiya, who had the Deputy Dean, Faculty of Arts at KASU, Prof. Gaius Jatau to stand in for him emphasized the importance of research that drives positive societal change.
The conference featured four key presentations:
- Dr. Wonu Wasila Okunnu of Bournemouth University, United Kingdom explored ethical considerations in social science research.
- Dr. Rukaiyat Adebusola Yusuf from the University of Huddersfield, United Kingdom discussed the application of artificial intelligence in cross-cultural studies.
- Dr. Asmau Ahmed Mukhtar of the Department of Geography and Sustainability Studies at KASU examined digital tools and innovative research methodologies.
- Dr. Ahmed Adamu Chiroma, Deputy Secretary of the Presidential Think-Tank on Defence and Security, addressed challenges and opportunities in cross-cultural research methodologies.
The event concluded with the presentation of plaques to all presenters and recognition of the Vice-Chancellor for his support of research initiatives. Prof. Abdullahi Ibrahim Musa praised the organizing team and encouraged ongoing research efforts to address pressing issues.
The conference provided a platform for dialogue and collaboration, setting a precedent for future advancements in research methodology.
