The pro-Chancellor and Vice-Chancellor of Kaduna State University inspect ongoing first-semester examinations

The Pro-Chancellor and Chairman Governing Council, Mallam (Dr) Husaini Adamu Dikko, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Abdullahi Ibrahim Musa and the Director of Admissions and  Examinations, Dr Auwal Farouk Abdulsalam went around the various university campuses on Tuesday, 30th and Wednesday 31st May 2023 to inspect the ongoing first-semester examinations. 

Being a student-centred university, the visit was aimed at ensuring that the ongoing examinations meet the expected standard and are conducted in a conducive, fair and transparent manner. 

They also interacted with students to get feedback regarding the whole examination process which was positive.

Kaduna State University set to collaborate with Louisiana State University

All machinery has been put in place for Kaduna State University to collaborate with Louisiana State University, Baton Rouge, LA in the United States of America. 

The high-profile meeting took place in the Vice-Chancellor's office on Tuesday, 30th May 2023 between KASU Management, led by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof.  Abdullahi I. Musa and a representative of Louisiana State University, Aisha Ali-Gombe who is an Associate Professor. 

The meeting centred on areas that will mutually benefit both Universities such as Research, Mentoring Sessions on Grant Writing, Cyber Security and forensic Science. 

The Vice-Chancellor spoke passionately about the need for local and international collaborations which is the practice among renowned universities globally. 

He remarked that KASU is aspiring to be a world-class university that will serve humanity and as such talents have been identified to champion that dream. 

In her remarks, Prof.  Ali-Gombe reiterated Louisiana State University's commitment to achieving the set goals and objectives discussed. 

The meeting was attended by the Registrar, Samira Balarabe, Esq,  Provost, College of Social and Management Sciences, Prof. Yushau Ango, Dean, Faculty of Management Sciences, Prof.  Helen A. Andow, SA to VC, Digital Transformation and Disruptive Technology and the University's Public Relations Officer, Adamu N. Bargo.

KASU moves to adopt Synchronous and Asynchronous Learning

In line with the current strategic plan for repositioning the University as a world-class centre of learning, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Abdullahi I. Musa has initiated the sensitisation and training of staff and students on synchronous and asynchronous learning (e-learning and blended learning). 

Hundreds of staff and students are currently attending a workshop facilitated by Dr Fatima S. Kabir who is the Deputy Dean, Faculty of Education (Undergraduate) as well as the Coordinator, e-learning and assisted by Halima Usman from the university library.
 
Synchronous learning refers to all types of learning in which learner(s) and instructor(s) are in the same place, at the same time, for learning to take place This includes in-person classes, live online meetings when the whole class or smaller groups get together. 

Asynchronous learning is a student-centred teaching method widely in online learning. Its basic premise is that learning can occur at different times and spaces particular to each learner.

KASU- a friendly University for persons living with disabilities.

The Joint National Association of Persons with Disabilities (JONAPWD) have called on the Management of Kaduna State University to strengthen an inclusive education framework for persons with disabilities. 

The plea was made during an advocacy visit to the University on Thursday, 11th May 2023.

Speaking during the visit, the programme officer on inclusive education, Kaduna, Stephen Waya explained that the Joint National Association of Persons with Disabilities (JONAPWD) is an umbrella body of all disabled persons organisations the (DPOs)/Organisations of persons with disabilities (OPDs) in Nigeria to promote the rights and development of Nigerians with disabilities across sectors. 

Responding, the Vice-Chancellor-Chancellor, Prof. Abdullahi I. Musa said most Universities in developed countries allow inclusive education for persons with disabilities and Kaduna State University is not any different. 

He revealed that the University is friendly with persons with disabilities and an office for the disabled will be established as part of the Management strategic plan to reposition KASU as a global player in education.

Tudun Wada North Forum Visit VC-KASU

Members of the Tudun Wada North Forum paid a courtesy visit to the Vice Chancellor of Kaduna State University, Prof. Abdullahi I Musa on 10th May 2023.
The members of the forum led by its Vice President Mallam Muhammad Kabir Tanko, congratulated the VC on his recent appointment and also pledge to continue to build on the already existing cordial relationship between their forum and the University. 
The VC on his part, expressed his appreciation and assured the forum of an upcoming partnership aimed at impacting positively on the University's immediate community.

Members of the Rimi College Management Board visit VC-KASU


Members of the Rimi College Management Board, led by the school's Principal Mallam Abdulsalam Abubakar Adamu, paid a courtesy visit to the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Abdullahi I Musa on 11th May 2023. The visit according to the Principal of the College was aimed at felicitating with the VC on his appointment, as well as to plead for the University's assistance, especially in the area of ICT. 
The VC expressed his gratitude and also reiterated the University's commitment to refocus on its immediate community in areas of creating projects that will better the lives of members of the community.
