The Joint National Association of Persons with Disabilities (JONAPWD) have called on the Management of Kaduna State University to strengthen an inclusive education framework for persons with disabilities.
The plea was made during an advocacy visit to the University on Thursday, 11th May 2023.
Speaking during the visit, the programme officer on inclusive education, Kaduna, Stephen Waya explained that the Joint National Association of Persons with Disabilities (JONAPWD) is an umbrella body of all disabled persons organisations the (DPOs)/Organisations of persons with disabilities (OPDs) in Nigeria to promote the rights and development of Nigerians with disabilities across sectors.
Responding, the Vice-Chancellor-Chancellor, Prof. Abdullahi I. Musa said most Universities in developed countries allow inclusive education for persons with disabilities and Kaduna State University is not any different.
He revealed that the University is friendly with persons with disabilities and an office for the disabled will be established as part of the Management strategic plan to reposition KASU as a global player in education.
