BOBA ALIGNS WITH KASU's STRATEGIC GOALS TO DRIVE PROGRESS

Members of the Barewa Old Boys Association (BOBA), KASU Chapter, visited Prof. Abdullahi I. Musa, the Vice Chancellor of Kaduna State University, on Thursday, 28th March 2024 in his office at the university's main campus. 

The BOBA delegation, led by Prof. Bala Dogo, stated that their visit aimed to formally congratulate Prof. Musa on his appointment as VC,  encourage him to build on the university's previous successes, and commend him and management for striving to reposition KASU as a key player in education regionally, nationally, and globally. They also pledged the association's ongoing support and assistance.

The VC appreciated the visit, highlighting his proud membership in BOBA. He encouraged them to propose programs and activities for the university support. 

Also during the visit were the DVC Administration, Prof. Muhammad Bashir Ali, the university's Registrar, Barr. Samira Balarabe, the university's Bursar, Haj. Hau'wau Dalhat Muhammad, and many other Kasu staff and students who are members of the association.

FOSTERING UNITY THROUGH RELIGIOUS PRACTICES

The Interfaith Forum for Muslim and Christian Women Association, Kaduna Chapter, also known as the Women's Interfaith Council (WIC) visited the office of the Vice Chancellor of Kaduna State University on Thursday, 28th March 2024. 

Reverend Sister Veronica Onyeanisi, the head of the delegation, explained that their main objective was to request the establishment of a place of worship for the Christian community within the university, emphasizing the importance of promoting peaceful coexistence and religious freedom both within and outside the university community.

In his response, the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Abdullahi I. Musa welcomed the delegation and affirmed the university's commitment to religious freedom. He addressed concerns about misinformation circulating and clarified that the university supports all religions, providing spaces for worship regardless of faith. He also mentioned that the university had already allocated a portion of land for the Christian community to build a place of worship while ensuring existing avenues for worship within the university are maintained.

The association expressed appreciation for the management's response and encouraged staff and students to avoid spreading harmful misinformation. The meeting concluded satisfactorily with mutual understanding and cooperation.

Also in attendance were the  DVC Academic, Prof. Yusha'u Ibrahim Ango, DVC Administration, Prof. Muhammad Bashir Ali, DVC Strategy, Innovation and Service Delivery, Prof Helen Afang Andow, the university's Registrar, Barr. Samira Balarabe.

PRIORITIZING ROAD SAFETY WITHIN AND BEYOND CAMPUS

A delegation led by Kaduna State Sector Commander, Kabiru Yusuf Nadabo from the Nigerian Road Safety Corps paid a courtesy visit to the Vice Chancellor of Kaduna State University on Thursday, 28th March 2024.

The purpose of their visit, according to K.Y. Nadabo, was to discuss potential collaborations with the university in promoting adherence to traffic rules and regulations. He suggested the creation of a special unit of road safety marshals for university staff interested in road safety and emphasized the importance of educating students about traffic rules both on and off campus.

In response, KASU Vice Chancellor, Prof. Abdullahi I. Musa appreciated the delegation's visit, expressing his passion for road safety. He welcomed the proposed collaborations, noting their alignment with the university's strategic plan. 

Prof. Musa also suggested developing a diploma or certificate course on road safety to educate learners about traffic laws. The meeting concluded successfully with both parties committed to contributing their best efforts.
