PRIORITIZING ROAD SAFETY WITHIN AND BEYOND CAMPUS

A delegation led by Kaduna State Sector Commander, Kabiru Yusuf Nadabo from the Nigerian Road Safety Corps paid a courtesy visit to the Vice Chancellor of Kaduna State University on Thursday, 28th March 2024.

The purpose of their visit, according to K.Y. Nadabo, was to discuss potential collaborations with the university in promoting adherence to traffic rules and regulations. He suggested the creation of a special unit of road safety marshals for university staff interested in road safety and emphasized the importance of educating students about traffic rules both on and off campus.

In response, KASU Vice Chancellor, Prof. Abdullahi I. Musa appreciated the delegation's visit, expressing his passion for road safety. He welcomed the proposed collaborations, noting their alignment with the university's strategic plan. 

Prof. Musa also suggested developing a diploma or certificate course on road safety to educate learners about traffic laws. The meeting concluded successfully with both parties committed to contributing their best efforts.

Also present during the meeting were DVC Academic, Prof. Yusha'u Ibrahim Ango, DVC Administration, Prof. Muhammad Bashir Ali, DVC Strategy, Innovation and Service Delivery, and Prof. Helen Afang Andow, University Registrar, Barr. Samira Balarabe, Director KASU Consult and Prof H.O Aboh.
