KASU HOSTS THE 2ND EDITION OF THE INSPIRE FOR IMPACT INITIATIVE YOUTH OPPORTUNITY SUMMIT

The Kaduna State University, KASU in collaboration with Inspire for Impact initiative, i4i, hosted a one-day youth opportunity summit which was themed "Leveraging opportunities."

The event which was convened by the Technical Adviser to the Vice President of Nigeria on Women, Youth Engagement and founder of Inspire for Impact Initiative, Hajiya Hauwa Liman, was held on Thursday, 11th July 2024 in the 1000-seater auditorium at the university main campus.

The Deputy Vice-Chancellor Academic, Prof. Yusha'u Ibrahim Ango, welcomed all esteemed dignitaries and participants alike. He expressed the hope that all youth present, by the conclusion of the summit, would be keen on identifying and keying into opportunities as they avail themselves. 

The Chairman of the occasion, Prof. Na'iya Sada implored the participants not to lose hope in the country due to the economic crisis in recent times but to accept reality and strive to override it. He further advised them to follow good examples of the scarce but yet available upright elders in the country.

In his goodwill message, the Vice-Chancellor of KASU, Prof. Abdullahi I. Musa commended the participants for taking the initiative to gather to brainstorm ideas and collaborate on solutions that can shape a better future for all. He expressed optimism that the invaluable ideas will resonate far beyond the summit. "At KASU we believe in the transformative power of each young person to make a difference in our society," said the VC. 

The summit panned out to be greatly impactful as series of speakers and dignitaries presented words of wisdom to all who availed themselves at the gathering. Some of the participants were also awarded prizes for excellent presentations and business pitching.

Bringing the event to a standstill was the convener who expressed immense gratitude to all guests for attending the 2nd edition of the youth opportunity summit.

Also in attendance at the summit were; His Excellency, the Governor of Kaduna State, Senator Uba Sani who was represented by the Honourable Commissioner for Sports Development, Prof. Benjamin K. Gugong, the Minister for State, Youth Development, Hon. Adewale Olawande, the Special Adviser to the President on Political Matters (Office of the Vice President, Federal Republic of Nigeria), Dr. Hakeem Baba Ahmed, Special Assistant to the President on Growth and Economic Expansion (Office of the Minister, Federal Ministry of Arts, Culture and the Creative Economy), Hon. Maryam Sule Ahman, Majority Leader, Kaduna State House of Assembly, Hon. Munira Suleiman Tanimu, Director General, National Board for Technical Education (NBTE),  Prof. Idris Bugaje, Registrar of KASU, Barr. Samira Balarabe, Poet Hidaya Mahmoud amongst others.
