"Partnering with security agencies is crucial for safeguarding the lives of our community members" ~ Prof. Abdullahi I. Musa

The Management of Kaduna State University (KASU), under the leadership of Vice-Chancellor Prof. Abdullahi I. Musa, visited the Kaduna State Command of the Nigeria Police on Tuesday, 11th June 2024.

Prof. Musa expressed the University's eagerness to establish a close partnership with the Nigeria Police, emphasizing the critical role of security in the community. He highlighted that KASU's engagement with its community aligns with the University's new strategic plan aimed at transforming it into a world-class institution.

Prof. Musa also affirmed KASU's commitment to fostering partnerships that build on the University's achievements since its inception. He expressed interest in having KASU security personnel trained by the Kaduna police command and equally offered to enrol police officers in courses beneficial to the force, including customized special courses in KASU.

Assistant Inspector General (AIG) Yahaya Sahabu Abubakar, who was recently promoted to Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG), praised the visit for promoting institutional security and commended KASU for recognizing the police as a partner.

Kaduna State Commissioner of Police, C.P. Ali Audu Dabigi, lauded the KASU delegation for strengthening the existing relationship between the University and the Kaduna Police Command. He stressed the importance of maintaining this relationship to enhance security in KASU, Kaduna State, and Nigeria. C.P. Dabigi also noted the command's readiness for capacity building and interest in enrolling Police personnel in courses beneficial to the Nigerian Police in KASU.

Also during the visit were DVC Strategy, Innovation, and Service Delivery, Prof. Helen Afang Andow, University Registrar, Barr. Samira Balarabe, the Chief Security Officer, Col. (Rtd) Ahmed Yabagi, KASU Public Relations Officer Adamu Nuhu Bargo, S.A to VC Mal. Abdulaziz Aliyu Idris, Protocol Officer to V.C Mal. Abdulhadi Tanko, and Haj. Bilkisu Lukman from KASU P.R Unit.
