KASU Management Team pays a Courtesy Visit to the Kaduna State Head of Service

The Management team of Kaduna State University led by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Abdullahi Ibrahim Musa, paid a courtesy visit to the Kaduna State Head of Service, Hajiya Habiba Anana Shekarau on Thursday, 7th September 2023, in her office.

In his remarks, the Vice-Chancellor thanked the Head of Service for granting audience to the team. He went on to inform her and her staff of the organisational reforms being undertaken by the University. 

The VC stated that Management is focusing on five focal areas that will reposition the university as an enviable citadel of learning around the globe. 

The areas include achieving teaching excellence, achieving research excellence, communal engagement, physical structures and doing things efficiently and effectively. 

Prof. Musa also said that human resources are needed to achieve the desired outcome and the support of the Head of Service will add impetus. He added that KASU is imitating Harvard University's style to be the best in Africa. 

'To succeed with this quest, we are establishing an Executive Education Unit, setting up a skills acquisition centre, strengthening e-learning, introducing internships, international certification as well as professional programmes.

'Management has spent countless hours to come up with fresh policies that will identify talent, reward hard work, tackle redundancy, and punish non-productive staff,' said the VC.

He expressed his gratitude for the support the university has received from the Kaduna State Government so far and requested continued support in the areas of capacity building, infrastructure development, and funding.

On her part, the Head of Service commended the Vice-Chancellor and his team for their efforts towards transforming the university. She acknowledged the importance of education in the development of any society and assured the management team of the state government's commitment to supporting the university in its quest for excellence.

Hajiya Anana Shekarau also emphasized the need for collaboration between the university and other government agencies to address the challenges facing the education sector in the state. She expressed her willingness to work closely with the university to achieve its goals and objectives.

The meeting ended on a positive note, with both parties reaffirming their commitment to working together for the progress and development of Kaduna State University. The courtesy visit is seen as a step towards strengthening the relationship between the university and the state government, and it is hoped that it will lead to further collaborations and support for the institution's growth and development.
