"It is important that our children receive functional education in a safe environment without fear of harassment" ~Prof. Abdullahi I. Musa

Prof. Abdullahi I. Musa, the Vice-Chancellor of Kaduna State University, recently took part in the Nigeria Police Force Stakeholders' Forum focusing on school security and the training of the Schools Protection Squad (SPS) in Kaduna State. The forum was held at Murtala Square, Kaduna, on 8th-9th May 2024. 

In his address, Prof. Musa highlighted the pressing challenge of insecurity and emphasized the need for a safe and conducive learning environment for students. He acknowledged the proactive approach of Kaduna State Governor Sen. Uba Sani, who has been unwavering in supporting educational access regardless of gender or tribe. He also praised the collaborative efforts of all stakeholders involved in ensuring the safety of learning environments.

KASU -VC Acknowledged for Exceptional Support in Sports

A delegation from Pluotos Club House, led by the Chief Security Officer, Nasiru Aliyu, visited the Vice-Chancellor of Kaduna State University (KASU), Prof. Abdullahi I. Musa on Thursday, 9th May 2024.

The purpose of the visit, as disclosed by CSO Nasiru, was to honour Prof. Musa, for his outstanding support of sports. He mentioned that the Pluotos Club House, which is a neighbour of the university, had recently organised a successful 16-team football tournament and requested that KASU participate in the upcoming one.

Prof. Abdullahi I. Musa, appreciating the recognition, warmly welcomed the delegation and reiterated the university's continued support for sporting activities. He also assured them of the university's participation in the upcoming football tournament.

KASU and Leadway Assurance Limited on the Verge of Collaboration

A delegation from Leadway Assurance Limited paid a visit to the office of Prof. Abdullahi I. Musa, the Vice Chancellor of Kaduna State University (KASU), on Thursday, 9th May 2024.

During the meeting, the Regional Manager Mr. Apollos Shinkut explained that the purpose of the visit was to strengthen the intent to collaborate with the university. The team also discussed the advantages of being insured by their company and the various plans available for beneficiaries to choose from.

In response, Prof. Abdullahi I. Musa reiterated KASU's dedication to fostering such collaborations and expressed willingness to invest in the necessary resources to actualise the partnership. 

The visit concluded positively, with both parties affirming their commitment to the collaboration.

"The lesson learnt today is the need to improve the learning ways of the university" ~Prof. Abdullahi I. Musa

The Office of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Strategy, Innovation and Service Delivery at Kaduna State University organized a one-day strategic implementation workshop on Monday, 29th April 2024.

The workshop, themed "KASU Marching to Excellence: Digitalization and Autonomy," featured presentations by the university's management team, headed by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Abdullahi I. Musa.

Attendees included Provosts, Deans, Directors, Heads of Departments, and Unit Heads.

The VC pointed out that the workshop aimed to facilitate continuous dialogue for implementing the university's new strategic plan, while emphasizing the importance of implementing the planned objectives across the university community.

Prof. Helen Afang Andow, the DVC, Strategy, Innovation, and Service Delivery, discussed the significance of strategic implementation and outlined strategies for achieving university objectives, focusing on communication, key performance indicators, transparent reporting, resource optimization, and staff training, among others.

DVC Academic, Prof. Yusha'u Ibrahim Ango highlighted on aligning skills with the strategic goals, focusing on achieving teaching and research excellence, community engagement, infrastructure improvement, and student-centric approaches. He also called for interdisciplinary collaborations on researches within and outside the university.

DVC Administration, Prof. Muhammad Bashir Ali,  emphasized on maintaining the university infrastructure collectively to enhance the quality of education, promoting sustainability practices for long-term benefits.

The university Registrar, Barr. Samira Balarabe stressed the importance of digitalization for operational efficiency in a digital world, while advocating for teamwork in order to realize the university's strategic goals.

The VC Prof. Abdullahi I. Musa concluded the workshop by emphasizing departmental strategic alignment with the university's plan in the bid to embrace new learning methods suitable for the digital era.
