Promoting Healthcare Services on Campus

In a bid to enhance healthcare services and facilities, Kaduna State University (KASU) welcomed Formal Act Legacy Limited, a consulting firm, for a second visit on Wednesday, 27th March 2024. The purpose of the visit was to inspect university facilities and discuss potential areas for further support.

During the visit, Dr. Bashir Ibrahim Bello, Chairman and CEO of Formal Act Legacy Limited, expressed the firm's commitment to corporate social responsibility by offering free medication and supporting the university with medical equipment. This gesture aimed to contribute to the improvement of healthcare services within the university community.

In response, Prof. Abdullahi Ibrahim Musa, the Vice-Chancellor of KASU, expressed gratitude for the ongoing support from Formal Act Legacy Limited. He emphasized the significance of partnerships between academic institutions and corporate entities in driving positive change and societal progress. Prof. Musa highlighted the university's strategic plan to provide cutting-edge education in line with the demands of the 21st century, stressing the importance of collaboration with stakeholders.

Furthermore, Prof. Musa assured that all donations received would be utilized effectively for the benefit of the university and its community. The visit included a tour of the university's Health Services facilities and other infrastructures on the campus, allowing the management and visitors to assess existing resources and potential areas for improvement.

This partnership builds upon previous contributions from Formal Act Legacy Limited, including the donation of an ambulance and the installation of boreholes on the university premises. Such collaborative efforts between KASU and external stakeholders continue to elevate standards and opportunities for students while fostering an environment of excellence and growth.

"Leaders have the foresight to perceive beyond followers, envisioning a broader perspective and a greater vision." - Gen Martin Luther Agwai.

Kaduna State University (KASU) recently hosted a one-day public lecture titled "Leadership and Mentoring for Peace and Development," featuring retired General Martin Luther Agwai, CFR. The event took place on Wednesday, 28th February 2024, at the university's 1000-seater auditorium. 

During his welcome address, the Vice-Chancellor Prof. Abdullahi I Musa expressed the university's joy at hosting the esteemed speaker for the first time, highlighting the alignment of Gen. Agwai's values with the newly outlined strategic plan of the university.

The Vice-Chancellor underlined the institution's commitment to community engagement, addressing issues that impact the well-being of the people. 

Gen. Agwai delivered a compelling lecture, focusing on the essential qualities of a true leader, including integrity, courage, willpower, and knowledge. He stressed the significance of mediating for peace in communities, asserting that such strategies have the potential to reconcile even the most adversarial groups.

The audience, comprising university management, staff, students, family, friends, and other dignitaries, found the lecture captivating. Gen. Agwai underscored the role of mentorship in cultivating great leaders, highlighting attributes such as caring for the next generation's success, positive role modeling, sharing experiences rather than advice, and active listening.

The speaker further asserted that for a nation to achieve stability and development, it must focus on enhancing human security, encompassing human rights, good governance, access to education, and healthcare. 

Regarding teamwork, Gen. Agwai emphasized the importance of embracing diversity, stating that collective efforts yield greater results.

In conclusion, the speaker reiterated the features of true leadership, emphasizing how equity, fairness, and inclusiveness contribute to conflict reduction and usher in stability.

The Honourable Commissioner of Education, Kaduna State, Prof. Muhammad Sani Bello, expressed his appreciation to the speaker for delivering an insightful lecture. He assured that he would share the details with the Governor of Kaduna State, Senator Uba Sani, expressing His Excellency's regret for not being able to participate due to his keen interest in the topic.

Other dignitaries during the event include the Overseeing Commissioner of the Ministry of Internal Security and Home Affairs, Mr. Samuel Aruwan, the Commissioner of Sports Development, Prof. Benjamin K. KASU and Tita Universal: A Digital leap forward.

Kaduna State University and Tita Universal Services officially signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on Monday, 18th March 2024, marking the commencement of e-timetable and other class scheduling initiatives for students and lecturers. 

The inaugural ceremony took place at the Vice-Chancellor's complex, where the KASU management team, led by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Academic, Prof. Yusha'u Ibrahim Ango, joined the Tita Universal team, led by its company secretary, Aisha Aminu Muhammad, in signing the MoU.

Aisha Aminu Muhammad, the company secretary of Tita Universal, expressed gratitude to the University and highlighted KASU's commitment to embracing digital solutions, which are now standard practice. She emphasised that Tita is a local firm with significant expertise in developing apps aligned with modern technology trends.

In response, Prof. Yusha'u Ango appreciated Tita Universal and emphasized that this collaboration aligns with the University's strategic goal of becoming a world-class institution.

The second part of the event unfolded at the 1000-seater Auditorium, where the Tita team engaged with KASU staff and students, introducing them to the Tita app (for students) and Lecti app (for lecturers). These apps, available on the Play Store and App Store, offer features like academic calendars, course updates, notifications, lecture scheduling, assignment submission, and more, facilitating interactive communication between students and lecturers.

The event was interactive, with the Tita team assisting attendees in downloading the apps using the provided Wi-Fi and demonstrating how to navigate the app features effectively.

The vote of thanks was delivered by the university's Registrar, Barr. Samira Balarabe, expressing appreciation to all attendees and wishing them a safe journey home.

U.N Charity (FICORD) Presents Ambulance to KASU

The United Nations Charity (FICORD), facilitated by Formal Act Legacy Limited, has generously provided an ambulance to Kaduna State University (KASU). The handover ceremony took place on Thursday, 7th March 2024, at the university. 

The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Abdullahi I Musa, on behalf of management, staff, and students, expressed gratitude, recognizing the commendable donation.

"Let's keep the peace and continue to work as one community"~ Apostle Kure.

On Tuesday, 27th February 2024, Prof. Abdullahi I. Musa, the Vice-Chancellor of Kaduna State University, welcomed a delegation led by Apostle Emmanuel Nuhu Kure to his office at the university's main campus. 

Apostle Kure, also the proprietor of Apocalupsis Theological College (ATC) in Kafanchan, expressed the purpose of the visit—to seek collaboration between KASU and ATC for their Christian Religious Studies (CRS) program. He stressed that KASU's expertise would facilitate a smooth launch of the CRS program at ATC. 

Apostle Kure commended the peaceful atmosphere and new facilities at the university, appreciating the VC's efforts to elevate it to a world-class institution.

In response, Prof. Musa thanked the delegation for their timely visit during the university's implementation of a new strategic plan which also involves a focus on community engagement. 

He assured the delegation of the university's support and requested a blueprint for further action. 

The visit concluded with a special prayer for the University by Apostle Kure.
