Administrative duties to commence at parmanent site

All necessary arrangements for the relocation of administrative duties to the permanent site of Kaduna State University have been put in place by the Management Committee of the University.The development is in view of the fact that Administrative block/Senate building is at 95% completion.The Principal Officers and some members of Management Committee inspected the permanent site located at Rigachikun, Igabi Local Government Area on Wednesday,15th February,2023.The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Abdullahi I. Musa stated that the relocation will take place before the end of March, 2023.He said that the standard of work at the permanent site is of high quality which can measure up to any civil structure globally and said the successes recorded is as a result of the proactiveness and vision of His Excellency, the Governor of Kaduna State. Prof. Musa also disclosed that students will gradually move to the permanent site over the course of time to join Management and Senate Committee Members.Other existing structures at the permanent site include the Faculties of Engineering and Law, students hostels, twin lecture theatres and the School for Governance.It will be recalled that the ground breaking ceremony of the permanent site was done byHis Excellency, Mallam Nasir Ahmad El-Rufai, CON, the Governor of Kaduna State and Visitor to the University on Friday, 5th March, 2021.

VC attends BUK convocation ceremony



The Vice-Chancellor, Kaduna State University, Prof. Abdullahi I. Musa attended the 36th and 37th Combined Convocation Ceremony, 2018/2019 and 2019/2020 Sessions of the Bayero University Kano.

The Convocation Lecture took place on Friday, 10th February, 2023 with the Topic: Financing Education in Post-Covid Era: Challenges and Opportunities and the Speaker was Dr. Mansur Mukhtar, Vice President, Country Programmes, Islamic Development Bank.

While the Investiture of 4th Chancellor, His Royal Highness Omo N'oba N'Edo Uku , Akpolokpolo, Ewuare II, The Oba of Benin and the Award of Higher Degrees and prizes to Graduands of School of Postgraduate Studies and Dangote Business School- BUK took place on Saturday, 11th February, 2023.

KASU to collaborate with API



The Management of Kaduna State University has initiated discussions to collaborate with the African Polling Institute.

The aim of the collaboration is to explore possible areas of joint research in order to win grants and introduce blended learning for Nigerian Academics world over to use virtual learning to connect, interface and give back to the society.

In his remarks during the visit to the Office of the Vice-Chancellor on Wednesday, 8th February, 2023, the Executive Director, African Polling Institute, Prof. Bell Ihua said he was in KASU for  seminar and data socialization session with scholars and students on the Nigeria Social Cohesion research report which is supported by Ford Foundation.

He stated that the Institute is willing to key into the vision of the VC by making KASU a renowned global citadel of learning.

Prof. Ihua also went further to disclose that KASU is the only University that was picked from the North-West Geopolitical Zone for the project.

He concluded by thanking the University Community for the warm reception and took time to acknowledge the efforts of the Director, Centre for Gender Studies, Prof. Hauwa'u E. Yusuf, a Fellow of the African Polling Institute, who he said has been a great partner.

The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Abdullahi Musa commended the Institutes foresight and interest in the University.

He said the University is more than glad to collaborate with API in promoting research and teaching excellence.

The VC concluded by informing the visitor that KASU has developed a strategic plan to position the University as a global player in education.

KASU debate community visits VC



The members Kaduna State University Debate Community led by the President, Abuh Raymond, visited the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Abdullahi I. Musa in his office to introduce the team and intimate him on their activities and other programmes.

Raymond told the VC that the Debate Community is a student literary and advocacy community.

It was created with the goal of breeding change makers who will be actively involved in changing the narrative in their society and contribute to directing the trajectory of a hopeful future for the University and the Nation at large. 

He further said that the platform is aimed at raising students with competency in public speaking, proffering solutions to issues affecting students and the society.

It organises debate competitions within and outside the University, commemorate important days, nationally and internationally with useful online and media content. Carrying out health advocacy and promoting ethical behaviour among students.

Responding, the VC expressed delight in receiving them and appreciated the lofty goals of the Debate Community and their commitment.

Prof. Musa, advised them to discharge their duties diligently, not taking it for granted, being a platform that seeks to address issues affecting students.

He also advised them to organise a fora where the Management Committee of the University and the Community will interact and chart a friendly course for the good of the system.

He gave assurance of Managements support where necessary.
